Story: Based on the short stories of 12 contemporary Hungarian writers, the MTV short film series Ship's diary, a series of 12 contemporary Hungarian directors, was made to cover the 20 years of the regime change. The stories on which the episodes were based were written by Géza Szőcs, István Kemény, Krisztián Grecsó, László Garaczi, László Darvasi, Noémi Kiss, György Spiró, Lajos Parti Nagy, István Tasnádi, Attila Balázs, Sándor Tar and Gábor Zoltán, the twelve directors chose the stories to be filmed from their works. The Ship's diary series is also unusual in that the 25-minute episodes are followed by a studio discussion.
