Story: The wealthy butcher lives like kings after the World War I in Hungary. One day his old business partner, a disgraced one-eyed gendarme officer, flees with a woman to his village. The presence of the strange woman fires up the lifeless owner of the butcher's shop, who gives them both jobs. When it turns out that the woman has been a whore in Pest, the butcher tries to buy her love with money. The pair agree to play the game and a dangerous bargaining begins: non of them knows who will stab whom in the back when the time of reckoning finally comes...
